Bring road safety into your workplace.

A ready-to-run workshop deck, a commute safety checklist for every employee, and a CSR guide for companies that want to partner with the movement.

The 45-minute workshop deck

Eight slides. Run it in a town hall, team meeting or induction session.

  1. Slide 1

    Why we are here

Open with the human cost: India loses over 1.7 lakh lives on roads each year. One slide, one number, thirty seconds of silence.

  2. Slide 2

The commute is a company risk

Reframe road safety as an employee wellbeing issue, not just a civic one. Most urban crashes involve working-age adults on routine commutes.

  3. Slide 3

    The five fatal behaviours

Over-speeding, riding without a helmet, driving without a seat belt, mobile phone use while driving, and drunk driving - with Indian crash data for each.

  4. Slide 4

    Two-wheeler riders

Correct helmet fit, pillion safety, reflective gear for night shifts, and why the helmet on the elbow protects no one.

  5. Slide 5

    Car users and cab commuters

Seat belts for every seat (including rear), cab safety habits, sharing live location, and never pressuring drivers to hurry.

  6. Slide 6

    Pedestrians and cyclists

Using footpaths and crossings, being visible at night, and earphone-free walking near traffic.

  7. Slide 7

    The Good Samaritan law

Section 134A of the Motor Vehicles Act protects bystanders who help crash victims - no police harassment, no compulsory court appearance.

  8. Slide 8

    Our company pledge

Close with a shared commitment: helmets on every ride, belts on every seat, phones down on every drive. Invite employees to take the Suraksha Pledge.

Employee commute safety checklist

Print it, pin it, or add it to your onboarding pack.

Before you leave

  • Helmet ISI-marked, strapped and snug (rider and pillion)
  • Seat belt fastened - front and rear seats
  • Vehicle documents and insurance valid on Parivahan / DigiLocker
  • Tyres, brakes, lights and indicators checked weekly
  • Buffer time planned so there is no pressure to speed

On the road

  • Phone on silent or Do Not Disturb while driving
  • Follow lane discipline and use indicators for every turn
  • Maintain a two-second following gap (four in monsoon)
  • Never jump a red light, even at empty junctions at night
  • Give way to pedestrians at zebra crossings

For cab and bus commuters

  • Share trip details with a family member or colleague
  • Check the driver and vehicle match the app details
  • Wear the seat belt even in the back seat
  • Speak up if the driver is speeding or using a phone

Late shifts and monsoon

  • Reflective strips or bright clothing for riders and cyclists
  • Slow down on wet roads - braking distance doubles
  • Avoid waterlogged stretches; a puddle can hide a manhole
  • Use company-arranged transport where offered

The CSR guide

For leadership and CSR teams evaluating a road safety partnership.

Why road safety fits CSR

Road safety aligns with Schedule VII of the Companies Act under promotion of health care and sanitation, and supports SDG 3.6 (halve road traffic deaths). It is measurable, visible and directly protects your own workforce.

What a partnership looks like

Sponsor signal drives near your campus, fund placard printing for a school zone, host a Suraksha workshop for employees, or adopt a junction with volunteers and signage. We provide the material, training and reporting.

What you get back

Impact reports with citizen reach numbers, volunteer participation data, co-branded campaign material, and a safer commute for every employee. Recognition at city-level Suraksha events in Pune and upcoming chapters.

How to start

Reach out through the Partner page with your organisation type and city. We respond within 48 hours with a tailored engagement plan, the Suraksha Vision and Pitch deck, and available campaign slots.
